APRIL MILLER

April is the founder of Journu and a Board Certified Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner.

She is committed to providing hope and solutions beyond conventional diagnoses by delving into metabolic fundamentals, ancestral wisdom, and circadian rhythms, while utilizing comprehensive lab testing to guide women through the process of total body healing.

Having conquered hypothyroidism, menopausal weight gain, and low sex drive, April's mission is to empower women over forty with the knowledge and tools needed for a thriving life.

KATIE HART

Katie had a multitude of inflammatory health issues as a child/teenager and learned as an young adult how to heal these without traditional medicine. After this experience, Katie wanted to pursue a career in medicine to learn how the body works and be able to apply personal experience to develop a comprehensive approach to health.

Katie believes that healing is fundamentally different from treatment. Healing requires a strong community that supports healthy habits — food, movement, being in nature.

Katie tries to incorporate these aspects into her currently life, by hunting and growing her own food with her husband, being outdoors, and prioritizing time with their community of family and friends.

FAVIA SAPP

Favia has been an APRN for 10 years. After 15 + years as an RN, she decided to become an APRN in order to directly impact the lives of her patients. She has a wealth of experience in disease prevention and seeks optimal wellness for all her patients.

Favia has worked in hospital medicine, primary care, aesthetic medicine, and cardiology which led her to focus on disease prevention. She believes in restoring women’s health through nontraditional medical approaches and therapies.

She aspires to create individualized, client specific tailored treatments for each woman in the practice. She has completed functional medicine courses and will be pursing functional medicine certification. She is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Favia is committed to wellness in her own life and is an avid runner and enjoys healthy eating. She encourages all her patients to engage in healthy eating habits along with regular exercise to enhance the benefits of wellness therapies.

JENNIFER PICKETT

A Dietitian by profession with over 27 years of experience in nutrition and wellness, Jennifer Pickett is a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach and Certified Midlife Specialist who helps women navigate the chaos of perimenopause and menopause with confidence and clarity.

She is the founder of The Hormone Huddle, a signature hormone course and group coaching program that empowers women to restore balance, boost energy, and thrive in midlife. As the host of The Midlife Hormone Crisis podcast (formerly Healthy Harmony), Jennifer combines education, humor, empathy, and real-world insight to make hormone health understandable and actionable.

JULIE DERR

Julie Derr brings over 30 years of experience in the health and wellness field as a Physical Therapist, Certified Athletic Trainer and Midlife Hormone specialist. Her own health journey with hormones, thyroid, and gut dysfunction sparked a passion for integrative and functional health. Today, Julie specializes in supporting midlife women through the hormonal changes of peri-menopause and menopause. As a Certified Midlife Specialist and authority on women’s health, she blends her expertise in hormones, gut health, thyroid function, nutrition, and exercise to help women regain energy, balance, and confidence.

Outside of her professional work, Julie is a proud wife and mom of four young adult children. She’s an avid runner who has completed five marathons—including the Boston Marathon. She also enjoys strength training, cooking, and reading.

ANNA ALLEN

Anna Allen is training to become a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner and Dietician, and received her bachelors degree in Nutritional Science in May of 2024.

Her professional career is just now beginning, but her passion for supporting our bodies to build health and resiliency extends far back. Supporting young women in their health journey is at the core of Anna’s motivation to further her education and work in the health industry.

Anna’s desire is to walk with you hand-in-hand through your health journey and equip you with the tools and support you need to heal.
